This low carb seafood chowder is creamy and satisfying and I love to use mussels with shells for extra flavor.

  • 1.1 lb/500g cod fresh or frozen
  • 1 lb/450 g cooked mussels with shells
  • 8 oz/250g salmon
  • 3.5 oz/100 g cooked prawns
  • 1/2 lb/230 g swede/turnip
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 TBSP butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • Salt pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp of paprika
  • 1 tsp dried parsley optional
  • Fresh dill for garnish


  • Peel and chop swede into cubes
  • Cut cod and salmon into small chunks
  • Melt butter in the large saucepan over medium heat
  • Add onions and cook for a few minutes stirring frequently
  • Add swede and cook for 5-6 minutes
  • Add salmon and cod, pour in the chicken stock
  • Simmer for about 10 minutes
  • Add prawns, mussels, herbs, paprika, salt, pepper and heavy cream
  • Simmer for another 6-7 minutes
  • Serve with fresh dill
