Low Carb Braised Cabbage with Beef

It’s fairly easy to make this tasty cabbage and beef dish. I cook this braised cabbage with beef quite often with different variations (chicken, sausage, beef) or just without any meat as a tasty side dish. If you have a slow cooker just put everything in it and cook on the high setting for about 5 hours or on slow setting for 8 hours.

Ingredients:
  • 370 g stewing beef
  • 900 g cabbage
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 red pepper
  • 2-3 TBSP Oil
  • Salt, pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
Instructions for low carb braised cabbage with beef:
  1. Cut beef into small chunks
  2. Thinly shred cabbage, slice onions and peppers.
  3. Place cabbage into large pot
  4. Preheat your skillet to high and add oil. Sear meat until it’s browned.
  5. Using same skillet saute onions and peppers.
  6. Place meat and vegetables into the pot with cabbage and mix everything together
  7. Add 2 cups of water, salt, pepper, garlic powder
  8. Simmer over low to medium heat for about 1,5 – 2 hours
  9. Add more water if required during cooking.
